Revamping the blog?

So for most of you I know it’s been MANY years since you’ve seen my name pop up on your feed. I am disappointed in myself because this blog was actually something I was really passionate about and I reallllly want to get back to it. So today, July 18, 2019, is the day that I’m deciding that this blog is getting a makeover and it’s going to be GOOD. Just mark my words y’all, sincerelyshania is making a comeback.

Let’s Chat: November 2016

Feel free to yell at me for going on a hiatus once again, but the most important thing is that I’m back! Since I’ve been gone so long, I figured you guys might want to know why I was, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity for a chat.

Over the summer I got a job in a popular retail store and I happen to work at the biggest store in the country. I decided to keep my job and work there during the school year so with work, school, service, and chorus, my schedule is pretty packed. Honestly at this point I barely have time to breathe, but I finally made sure I had time to sit here and write this.

Besides school, work, and service, nothing eventful really happened in September, but I actually did do something in October. My best friend Cat (who I’ve mentioned many times in previous blog posts) and I attended a Charlie Puth concert! Not many people know this, but I’m a big fan of Charlie Puth. Like a really big fan. It was an amazing concert and I shared about my experience along with a video from the concert on my Instagram (feel free to follow me).

November hasn’t been the most exciting month for me, but I’ve been spending most of this month preparing for next month and everything that is going to be thrown at me, so expect more updates then!

I Love Fall Tag

Fall is definately my favorite season.

Like without a doubt.

So I thought what’s a more perfect thing for me to do than the “I Love Fall Tag!”

1. What is your favorite fall month?

• My favorite fall month is September because it’s not too cold or too warm and I love the balance of temperatures.

2. What did you dress up as for Halloween last year?

• Last year I was a nurse for Halloween and I’m pretty sure you can find a picture of my costume if you scroll far down enough on my Instagram (a little self-promo hehe).

3. What is your favorite fall food?

• I love how as soon as it becomes September every thing is pumpkin flavored! I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin donuts, pumpkin bread, but I also enjoy non-pumpkin flavored things like sweet potato pie.

4. Do you have any fall traditions?

• Sadly, I do not have any fall traditions, but I’m always open to making some!

5. What music do you like to listen to during the fall?

• Personally, my music preference doesn’t really change with the seasons (expect when I spend all of December listening to Christmas music), but I do find myself listening to more throwback songs during the fall if that counts.

6. What is your favorite fall outfit?

• I tend to waer a lot of sweaters and henelys in the fall with jeans, boots, and occasionally scarves.

7. Favorite scary movie?

• I actually don’t watch scary movies, but I do have favorite Hallloween themed movies such as the Halloweentown movies, Twitches 1&2, and Hotel Translvanyia.

8. S’mores or Pumpkin Pie?

• Pumpkin pie for the win!

9. Hot Chocolate or Warm Apple Cider?

• I prefer cold apple cider?

10. Do you like Pumpkin Spice Lattes?

• I’ve actually never had one before. *cue gasps*

11. What is the best thing about your town in the fall?

• New York becomes very photogenic during the fall.

12. Tea or Coffee?

• Neither. Oops?

13. Gloves or Mittens?

• I feel that gloves are more functional.

14. What is your favorite Halloween candy?

• Candy corn because it’s suddenly in abundance this time of year!

15.  Do you enjoy the other seasons?

• Yes, my second favorite season is spring!

Mini Drugstore Haul

As my loyal readers you probably already know that I go to CVS a lot, so this haul shouldn’t really surprise you. I didn’t buy a lot, but I did want to share what I bought!

I’m going on a cruise tomorrow so these four items are mainly for that. The first thing I bought seems pretty self-explanatory and they are Neutrogena Travel Size Makeup Wipes.

The second thing I bought was this Wet N’ Wild Mega Protein Waterproof Mascara. I only bought it because my friend Yvonne likes Wet N’ Wild and I needed a waterproof mascara, but I don’t like it. In my opinion, it doesn’t make my lashes long enough and I don’t know if I didn’t apply enough or if it just sucks, but I’ll give it another try.

Continuing with the Wet’n Wild products, I got this new lipstick in “Will You Be With Me?” The color is lighter than I thought it would be and I forgot to swatch it, but I will in a future post.

Lastly I bought another mascara, Maybelline Great Lash in blackest black. I’ve heard good things about this mascara, so I decided to try it out!

July Music Favorites

I’m not sure if either I haven’t been paying alot of attention lately or if I’m actually right, but I feel like not that many artists released new music this month. Like I usually have more songs in my monthly playlists, but this month it’s looking a little short.Well if I’m right and artists just haven’t been releasing that many songs this month, that means we’re all in store for a bunch of new music next month and this upcoming fall season, so that’s something to look forward to.

Anyway, even though I don’t have that many songs to talk about, I decided to talk about them anyway!

So I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but every now and then, Fergie takes a break from music and then comes back with a really catchy song and I’m not complaining because I like M.I.L.F.$.

Then of course I love Demi Lovato’s newest song Body Say because she’s one of my all time favorite singers and the same thing applies to Kehlani with her three new songs.

I haven’t seen Ghostbusters (remake or original), but I like two songs from the soundtrack and they are Girls Talk Boys by 5 Seconds of Summer and wHo by Zayn. Another song I like that’s from a movie soundtrack is Paint It, Black by Ciara and I don’t know what movie it’s from because my mom was watching some movie one day and this song was playing during the end credits and I really liked it, so I Shazamed (is that even a word?) it and found out what the name of the song was.

There are obviously more songs in my playlist, but those are the ones I felt like mentioning, so feel free to listen to my July 2016 playlist on Spotify so you can see if you like any of the same songs too!

My Style Icons

I spend a lot of time on Pinterest. I just felt the need to put that out there because it’s true; I honestly spend an unhealthy amount of time on Pinterest.

Since I spend so much time on Pinterest, I have a lot of boards and one of my favorite boards conincidentally happens to be named faves. On this board I pin pictures of my favorite celebrities in my favorite outfits they’ve worn or them just looking amazing as usual.

Some of those pictures feature girls I consider my style icons. Their outfits give me inspiration and I admire their fashion sense, so I thought I should share those people with you guys!

Since I was 8 years old and first saw her on Wizards of Waverly Place, I’ve always loved the way Selena Gomez dresses. Her characters, her street style, her red carpet appearances, everything. I used to buy clothes from her fashion line because I like her style that much.

She just looks good so effortlessly.

Zendaya just slays in every way: makeup, hair, outfits, you name it, so it would be weird if I didn’t put her as one of my style icons.

There are so many simple pieces in this outfit, but the way she puts them together looks amazing.

I love the fact that she wears clothes that show off how tall and slim she is because it’s something I can appreciate considering I have the same build and height.

Ariana Grande has this really timeless, cute, girly style that everyone tries to copy but they know they can’t pull it off like her. Admit it: you’ve worn your hair in her famous half-up half-down style and bought cat ears and a bunch of circle skirts because you wanted to look like her. It’s okay; we’ve all done it before.

As you can tell, this Ariana 2014 time period had some of my favorite looks from her.

If you know me then you know I’m absolutely obsessed with Nina Dobrev. I just love her and I can’t explain why, so obviously one thing I love about her is her clothes.

She usually dresses pretty chill, most likely opting for jeans and a top whenever she goes out, but occasionally she surprises us by wearing something really cute like this maxi dress.

Nina’s red carpet dresses are usually stunning (ex. 2012 Emmys) and this dress she wore to the Golden Globes earlier this year is no exception.

So I know everyone just jumped on the “Gigi train” late last year and continued to this year, but I’ve been following Gigi Hadid since 2013 and that’s how long I’ve been envying her closet.

I love how her whole outfit consists of monochrome colors.

Okay, so I know everyone has different feeling about her, but I for one actually like Kylie Jenner. Shocker, I know. I think she’s so pretty (before and after surgery), funny, and genuine. And yes, I based all that off her snapchat stories.

But back to the matter at hand.

Kylie has this nice glamourous, but laidback style that I really admire.

Chic yet simple.

The This or That Tag: Summer Edition

I feel like summer is a hard season to like. Everyone has their own ideas on what makes their summer great, so I thought I’d share my preferences.

1. Ocean or Pool?

* I like the pool because I’m not a big fan of sand and there are always too many people at the beach.

2.  Beach Vacation or Wilderness?

* Uhh…is a cruise an option?

3.  Watermelon or Strawberries?

* I think I like the taste of watermelon more.

4. Bikini or One-piece?

* It depends on how I’m feeling.

5. Lemonade or Iced Tea?

* Unless it’s Nestea Raspberry Iced Tea, lemonade for the win. It’s my go to drink at resturants.

6. Hotdogs: Grilled or Over a Fire?

*I actually boil my hotdogs…awkward.

7.  Hat or Sunglasses?

*Considering I don’t actually own a pair of prescription sunglasses (I wear glasses btw) and I think sunglasses look weird on me, caps are my best friend during the summer.

8. Windows Down or AC all the way?

*If it’s cool enough, but New York City is never cool enough  so AC all the way!

9. Tanning lotion or Sunscreen?

*I’m naturally tan enough for my liking so sunscreen.

10. Baseball Game or Concert?

*I’m a sucker for some good music and flashing lights, so concert.

11. Ice Cream or Popsicle?

* Some people call them coquitos, but I prefer the icies you can get off any street corner in New York from the icie man or woman.

    12. Fireworks or Fireflies?

           * I like the colors of fireworks, but hate how loud they are.

     13. Flip Flops or Bare Feet?

          * As soon as flip flops are acceptable to wear outside again, I buy a new pair!

    14. Water Balloons or Squirt Guns?

         *I never liked being hit with water balloons, so squirt guns are great!

What I Got for My Birthday 2016

This is very long overdue, but here is my birthday haul.

Yes, I said my birthday haul and yes, my birthday was three months ago, but it’s better late than never.

The first gift I got was this Benefit “They’re Real” mascara from my friend Penelope. Since my birthday was April 2nd, it fell during Easter break and she wasn’t sure if she was going to see me, so she gave me my gift ahead of time.

I already owned the travel size version of this mascara and I really love it, so I was estatic to own the full size.

My grandma bought me this Christian Siriano backpack from Payless. I know that most people don’t think of Payless as a place to buy good quality shoes, let alone bags/purses, but I saw this bag in there one day and I knew I had to have it. I’m planning on making this my summer bag and taking it wih me on whatever “adventures” I go on.

My best friend Catherine also got me something from Christian Siriano’s collection at Payless. It’s this Bethanne Satchel in a light blue color. It’s one of my go to summer purses because of how cute and bright it is!

 Continuing the purse trend, my godmother sent me a $50 Visa gift card and I used it to order a purse, a matching makeup bag, and two belts from H&M.

The purse and makeup bag are no longer available on the website, but they might still be sold in stores.

She also gave me a $25 iTunes card I’ve yet to spend, but I will once I fgure out what albums I want to buy.

Then my uncle Craig gave me $40, so I used it to order myself a new wallet and mascara from Macy’s. I needed a bigger wallet so I thought this Anne Klein one was perfect and always wanted to try the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, so I decided to get a travel size to test it out.

If you guys remember from my What I Got for Christmas post, my godmother got me a $25 Sephora gift card and I finally got around to spending it when I went to get my birthday reward from Sephora. I actually used the gift card to buy my friend Sam a late birthday present, but I used what was left to buy a new lip product. It’s the Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color in “Fig.”

The last present I recieved was from Sam, who also gave me my gift late just like I gave her hers. She bought me this cute set from Smashbox, this really yummy smelling candle, and some gummy worms.

 That’s all I got for my birthday and I’m very grateful to have people in my life who take the time out of their day to do nice things like buy me presents and give me birthday cards (I’m obsessed with cards)!
